BUFFALO NICKELS 1913-1938-D

Featured here is a complete collection of Buffalo nickels (except for the 1918/7-D coin) for your enjoyment. The goal of this set was to present coins with excellent detail, and in some cases, I was fortunate enough to locate coins with outstanding strike quality. Of particular interest will be the 1924-S, which is likely a technically uncirculated coin, the 1926-S which presents a good, strong horn, and the 1921-S which although only average in strike quality, presents a very nice planchet.

Most of the coins here grade in the AU-55 through MS-62 range, with a couple on the low end of AU, and likewise a handful in better UNC grades. I especially sought out coins that appear to have original toning, and that have not been cleaned. I particularly like the toning of the 1918 and 1913-S Type 1 coins.

The coins are set up in hypertext documents in such a way as to emulate the appearance of a Classic Whitman coin album. You may click on any of the three images above to see an enlarged page, and then, you may click on the thumbnail images of each coin to view a large and well-detailed image. As many old-time collectors did, I have presented coins with mintmarks with the reverse facing up, while the Philadelphia coins are presented with the obverse showing.
