Although a common die-marriage, this example of the issue appears to be a very late (and possibly unreported) die-state. I could find no mention of it in the Logan reference. The digit 1 in the date displays outstanding defects on either side of the stem, causing it to appear as a squarish 'blob' on the coin. I would be interested in any further information for this coin. A couple of scratches on the left obverse field do inhibit the eye-appeal of this otherwise original coin.
