An unevenly struck coin (which is usually true of this issue), with pleasing, finer detail visible on Liberty's upper portrait and at the eagle's lower wings and plumage, but mushier details elsewhere. It is likely this coin was struck with slightly misaligned dies. LIBERTY is basically readable, though parts of a few letters are missing, and the horizontal shield lines are incomplete. Were the strike more consistent, this coin would have claims to an EF grade, as some remnants of mint luster remain in protected areas. Completely original, and an extremely difficult issue to locate lately.
