Prices on early quarters with original character are just spiraling out of sight these days. I simply cannot keep these coins in stock, and I feel like my prices are strong! Of course, the problems is that I have to pay out the nose for choice specimens. Here's an example that technically just barely makes a VF grade. I say 'barely', because typically, I would look for a stronger reverse motto and a bit more dentilation. However, this is, after all, a B-3 which always has central weakness, and overall was just not a very well produced die-marriage. But what's important here is the strong originality of this specimen. The color is perfectly original, and though not thoroughly even, that fact simply reinforces the notion that the coin has not been 'improved' or messed with. Very choice quality, but at a stiff premium, which is as it should be.
