This is an extremely attractive, early Capped bust half. Exquisite bands of original iridescence cling to the edges of the coins in nearly perfect, concentric circles, with the colors blending from charcoal, to sunset orange, to brilliant lemon-yellow to sea-green, and finally yielding to the mixture of aqua and rose hues that dominate the rest of the coin. Amazingly, the obverse and reverse are also almost perfectly matched. Areas of light wear are revealed as greyish highlights on the higher points of the detail, but the substantial remaining mint luster confirms the grade of this coin as being near AU. An utterly delightful example of the series, and a coin well worth the substantial premium I had to pay for it.
