Overton briefly discusses the possibility of an 1836/4 overdate, and this coin seems to offer ouststanding support of that contention. The point of a '4' is clearly visible above the upper tail of the last digit in the date. A blot of thick black gunk sits between stars 4 and 5, but it can likely be removed if necessary. A fully original coin with no hairlines, and just a couple of fine, old scratches near the portrait.
